ABOUT US

We launched Hometown Poké in 2017 with a goal of bringing fresh and accessible food to Providence — a void that we felt needed to be filled. We were inspired by years of living in California and traveling to Hawaii, places which had an abundance of healthy options.

We’re proud to adopt lil’ Rhody as our hometown and are excited to share our twist on this Hawaiian classic with you.

WHY POKÉ?

Poké has flavors that remind us of home. Our bowls blend the ingredients of traditional Hawaiian poké and the health consciousness of Californian cuisine. We only use high quality sushi-grade fish, and we emphasize supporting local businesses.

OUR FOOD.

OUR INGREDIENTS

When you eat a Hometown Poké bowl, you’re eating real food in it’s true, organic form. No preservatives, no fillers, no nonsense - just fresh, fun, and delicious meals. All of our bowls are made-to-order and we source locally from vendors such as Tony’s Seafood and Baldor Foods. This means that when you visit us, you’re supporting an ecosystem of Rhode Island based food businesses!

OUR MISSION

Simply put, we wanted to introduce this amazingly unique dish to Rhode Island, where it wasn’t yet available. We set out to provide fresh, flavorful, accessible food for all, and above all do it in a way that makes our customers feel like family and friends.

BUILDING COMMUNITIES WITH FOOD

We’re proud to say that our cafe is one of the first of its kind to be located in the Mount Hope Neighborhood. We chose this area because of its diverse and vibrant history. We lease our space from a non-profit organization, which means 100% of our rent goes to supporting their programs. We believe that food brings people together, and as residents of the neighborhood, we couldn’t think of a better place to live and work.

CONSCIOUS SOURCING

We believe that by sourcing locally, we are supporting a healthy and sustainable food ecosystem in Rhode Island. Buying a bowl is good for you, and good for our food economy!

We’re proud to partner with:
Tony’s Seafood (Warren)
Borealis Coffee (East Providence)
The Nitro Cart (Providence)
Aura’s Chocolate (Providence)
Luluna Kombucha (Providence)

Newport Sea Salt (Newport)
MEM Tea (Boston)
